Our Mission

Driving education that builds
confident, lifelong drivers.

At Dayspring, our mission is to deliver Maryland-certified driver education that goes beyond passing the test. We equip teens and adults with the judgment, calm, and defensive habits that keep them safe long after the license is issued.

Our MVA-aligned curriculum and patient one-on-one coaching help every student feel supported, prepared, and respected from the first lesson to the final road test.

We partner with schools, churches, and parents across greater Baltimore to make excellent driver education affordable, accessible, and genuinely transformative.

Driver Education FAQs

Common Questions

What age can my teen start Driver Ed? +
Students must be at least 15 years and 9 months old to begin classroom instruction. Behind-the-wheel training begins at 15 and a half. Adults 18 and older can enroll at any time with no age restriction.
How long does the program take? +
The 30-hour classroom component typically runs 3-5 weeks depending on your schedule. Behind-the-wheel sessions are scheduled separately and can be completed concurrently. Most students complete the full program in 6-10 weeks.
What is the difference between in-person and virtual? +
Both are fully MVA-approved and produce the same Completion Certificate. In-person is held at our classroom facility. Virtual uses live Zoom with the same instructor and curriculum. The BTW component is always in-person regardless of which classroom option you choose.
Does my teen need a Learner's Permit before enrolling? +
No. You can enroll at Dayspring before obtaining the Learner's Permit. We recommend getting the permit within the first 2 weeks of classroom instruction so you can begin behind-the-wheel sessions on schedule.
Can I do BTW sessions on weekends? +
Yes. BTW sessions are available Monday through Saturday by appointment. We do our best to accommodate school, work, and extracurricular schedules. Pickup and drop-off is available within our service area.
What vehicles are used for BTW training? +
All BTW sessions use modern, clean, dual-brake vehicles maintained and insured by Dayspring. All vehicles are approved by the Maryland MVA for driver education purposes.
What happens if my student fails a quiz or exam? +
Students who do not pass a classroom assessment are given opportunities to retake it. Our instructors work with every student individually to ensure understanding before advancement.
Is there a payment plan? +
Yes. All packages offer a deposit + balance structure. A deposit secures your seat immediately, and the balance is due before your final examination. We also offer flexible arrangements for families that need them - contact us to discuss.
